5th Internatl. Exhibition of Mini Textile Art, Kherson

Held in Kherson, Ukraine, from 15th to 25th June 2011, this exhibition featured pieces by 69 artists from 21 countries, including 10 each from Japan and Poland, 9 each from Norway and Ukraine, 8 from the USA, 5 from the UK and between
I and 3 each from the Argentina, Belgium, China, Finland, France, Germany, India, Korea, Lithuania, Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and Turkey. They included well­known names as well as young artists who experimented with materials, techniques, surfaces and three-dimensional effects. Miniature textiles constitute an experimental and design laboratory for preparation of future projects. Traditional materials and techniques were complemented by etching techniques, steel nets, wirework and various mixed techniques. Distinctions were awarded to Galyna Shchygolva, Victoria Pokydanetz, Ester Serpionova and Veronika Mon from Ukraine, Ursula Gerber-Senger from Switzerland, Danuta Haremska/N, Flora Sutton/RA, Trish Ramsey/ USA, Nobuko Ueda and Junko Suzuki from Japan and Rodica Georgeta Diaconu from Romania.
