4th INTERNATIONAl EXHIBTION OF MINIATURE TEXTILES
Based on work supplied by invited artists, this exhibition aims to stimulate discussion on new forms of expressions that go beyond traditional categories of execution. This year, 67 artists from 19 countries presented their work, from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Lithuania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, the USA and Ukraine. Several artists used traditional techniques such as tapestry, batik or embroidery, while others explored new technologies. Most of the participants had already taken part in numerous exhibitions, e.g. Brigitta Hallberg DK, Mary Ruth Smith USA, Renata Casolini l, Cynthia Schira USA, and others. Guests attending the opening ccremony included writers, artists, museum staff, university lecturers, researchers, collectors and students. There were lively discussions as to which were the best pieces in the exhibition. The audience and judges favoured the work of Veronika Mon UKR, Anne Brodersen DK and Ozcan Uzkur TR.
